Women's Studies and Black Studies Journal

Black Women, Gender, and Families (BWGF) is an interdisciplinary, generalist journal that publishes the highest quality original theoretical and empirical research in the social and behavioral sciences, history, and humanities that center the study of black women and other women of color, gender, families, and communities.  Within these guidelines, we encourage a range of topics including those that focus on theoretical debates, comparative and transnational research between populations of color, and domestic policies in the U.S.  Essays, book reviews and guest-edited special issues are welcome and we ask that the Editor be contacted in advance for each.

BWGF has a rolling submissions policy and we welcome submissions at any time.  The BWGF editors invite you to try out our new electronic manuscript submission system.  This secure, personalized resource will allow you to track your manuscript through each step of the acceptance and production process.  To begin CLICK HERE (linked website: http://caxton.press.illinois.edu/journals/ojs/index.php/bwgf/user/register) to set up your personal account and upload your submission.  Submissions will be reviewed as soon as possible (typically within three to four months).  Thank you for considering Black Women, Gender, and Families.
